Born on April 23, 1931 in Pink Hill, NC, she was the daughter of Clarence and Dollie Lee Rhodes Langston. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church, a faithful Soldier serving as The Welcome Sergeant, Sunday School Teacher, Band and Songster Member, Christmas Bell Ringer, and many other faithful duties, proudly wearing the Salvation Army uniform and witnessing to those she met. To many she was known as "The Vegetable Lady", proudly growing some of the largest tomatoes and collard greens seen. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all she met.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Walter A. Moore, Sr., and Buddy Johnson; a son, Walter A. Moore, Jr., a daughter, Brenda L. Ross; three sisters, Hazel Taylor, Frances Lassiter, and Linda Sue Langston; and a brother, Cecil Langston.
