He was in the 1st Dragoons. He reenlisted on December 13, 1845, at Fort Gibson (Oklahoma). He reenlisted again on January 3, 1852, at Sonoma, CA, by Major Fitzgerald. His service expired on January 3, 1857, at Fort Walla Walla (WA). In 1902, his Mexican War pension was increased to $12 per month.
