George E. "Dutch" Mumper, 87, formerly of Mount Joy, died at his daughter's Maytown home. He was born in Blain, PA. to the late George and Elsie (Berrier) Mumper.

George was a salesman for the Caldwell Supply Co., N.J. in 1978, and prior there to worked for 20 years for New Holland Supply Co. and for the former Gerberich & Payne Shoe Co. He also delivered bread door to door in Mount Joy for Manbeck's Bakery for many years. He was a member of Glossbrenner United Methodist Church, Mount Joy, for 34 years. He enjoyed woodworking, refinishing antique furniture, growing all colors of roses, watching sports on television, hunting, the outdoors and, socializing at the Mount Joy Diner.

He was married to Edith Toomey Mumper for 46 years and he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

George was the widower of Katharine Heisey Mumper, who died in 1957. He is survived by Edith Toomey Mumper; three daughters, Marlene M. Grove of Ephrata, Georgianna Hess of Manheim and Debra L. Rubright of Maytown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Sheetz Funeral Home, Mount Joy, with the Rev. Kenneth H. O'Neal officiating. Burial was in Camp Hill Cemetery, Mount Joy.
