Ava - Benjamin Wallace, aged 67 years, an old time resident of the town of Ava, died at his home, one and one-half miles south of here, at 9:45 Thursday evening. He was born in Lee and had resided in Ava for the past 39 years. Mr. Wallace was twice married. His first wife was Miss Melvina E. Eygabroad, to whom he was married on January 10, 1870, and who died in April 1885. On June 28, 1888, Mr. Wallace was married to Miss Ella Beyel of West Leyden. He is survived by his wife and four sons, William Wallace of Ilion, Charles Wallace of Stittville, Adelbert Wallace of Syracuse and Irving Wallace, who resided at home. He also leaves three brothers, Nathaniel Wallace of Port Collins, Colorado, Anthony Wallace of West Branch, and Joseph Wallace of Rome. He was a member of the First M. E. Church of Ava. Mr. Wallace followed the occupation of a farmer and was very prosperous in this calling. During his long residence in this town he made many friends who will greatly regret his death.
