A memorial service for Elizabeth McBryde Bigham will be 1:pm Saturday January 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Killeen.
Mrs. Bigham was born February 2, 1921 in the Ding Dong Community to Mance L, and Lizzie Gower McBryde. She attended school at Iduma, graduated from Killeen High School in 1938 and received a B.S. Degree from Mary Hardin Baylor and a Masters Degree in Library Science from East Texas State.
She taught school for 41 years in Bell County, 38 being in the Killeen Independent Schools.
Elizabeth McBryde and Leroy Bigham were united in marriage in a home wedding in Killeen in 1946 and have spent their entire life in this area.
She was a long time active member of the First Baptist Church, member of the Wednesday Review Club, Killeen Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and the Killeen Educational Foundation Board.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Round Rock Children's Home in Round Rock.
She is survived by her son John M. Bigham and wife Susan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ruby Hayes and Wilma Clinkscales, and brothers John Robert McBryde and Thomas Frank McBryde.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
