COWARD, Hardy 10 Sep 1776 - 16 Aug 1844 NOTES: This is Isaac Hardy COWARD. Believed to be the oldest grave in this cemetery. Hardy was the second Justice of the Peace in Calcasieu Parish. It was said that he would not charge to marry folks and consequently was one of the most popular men in the Parish. He was the s/o Needham & Phebe _?_ COWARD. He m. Elizabeth BATES, before 1801. Known children were: Jane m. John GILL; Wilson m. 1. _?_ COLE, 2. _?_ Pierce, 3. Fannie MOORE; Richard 1801 - 1876 m. Harriet __?__; Allen b. 1808 m. Margaret PERKINS; Louisa 1813 - 1893 m.
