A son of the late Albert and Fannie Lou Conley Pace, he was retired from the rod and wire department of Detroit Steel, Corp., a World War II Army Veteran and a member of Meade Pentecostal Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Drake Pace in 1963, he is survived by seven sons, James R. Pace of Akron, Elmer La Vaughn Pace of Orlando, FL; Richmond, Phillip, John and Mark Pace all of Wheelersburg, Rt. 1 and David Pace of Sciotoville, Rt. 2; 4 daughters, Christine Osborne of Lithonia, GA, Carol Buckle of Clarktown, Diane Whitley and Cindy Clements both of Wheelersburg, Rt. 1; six sisters, Pearl Bailey of Sciotodale, Alberta Williams of Sciotoville, Dora Hammond and Sarah Mason both of Wheelersburg, Bessie Daniels and Marie Leist both of Columbus; 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
