Funeral of Mrs Mary Dooley, Chicago
Scores of friends and relatives from Chicago, Evansville, Albany, Monticello and the Croake Settlement attended the funeral of Mrs Mary Dooley, Chicago, former resident of this city, held at 9:30 Monday morning at St Mary's church. The Rev Alexius Croak, OSM Chicago, nephew of the deceased was celebrant at the requiem high mass. Others who took part in the ceremonies were Brothers Thomas Croake, OSM Chicago, also a nephew of Mrs Dooley, The Rev Sidney Dwire, Evansville, the Revs Charles M Olson and E J Goebel, both of this city.
Burial was in Mt Olivet cemetery and pallbearers were Dan Finnane, Evansville, Dan Drew, Footville, James Houghton, Magnolia; P J Noonan, Henry Horn and James Ward.
Children of Mrs Dooley coming to the city to attend the funeral were: Mr and Mrs Arthur Dooley, Brodhead; Mr and Mrs John Murphy Footville; Mr and Mrs Peter Garry, Evansville; Mr and Mrs J J Griffin, Mr and Mrs F W Menne, Mrs D F Bidwell and Miss Norine Bidwell all of Chicago.
Mrs Dooley made her home in the city until seven years ago.
