ROCK COUNTY PIONEER
DIED THIS MORNING
John Dooley, an old and respected
citizen of Janesville, passed away
early this morning at the home of his
daughter. Mrs. James Stack, 1420
North street. He was taken suddenly
ill last Wednesday with anemia, which
with his advanced age proved fatal to
him. A loving-father and a kind husband,
his loss will be keenly felt by his widow
and children.
Since retiring from farm life he had made his home in this city where he made many acquaintances and warm friendships.

The deceased was born in Ireland in
1844 and came to America with his
parents when only a year old, settling
in Rock county. He grew to manhood
in this county and at the age of twenty-
six was united in marriage to Mary
Croke. Nine children blessed this union and all survive to mourn his death.
They are seven daughters: Mrs. H Townsend and Mrs James Stack of this city, Mrs D F Bidwell, Misses Martha J and Abbie Dooley, Mrs. John Murphy of Footville, Mrs. Peter Garry of Evansville and two sons, John of this city and Arthur of Brooklyn.
Funeral services will be held from
St. Patrick's church Wednesday morning
at nine o'clock. Interment will be made
in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
