She Was Much Loved Here.
"Many Charlotte friends will be distressed," said one of the older citizens to hear of the death of Mrs. Mary Drayton Pope, which occurred some weeks ago in Florida, where she lived. She was a daughter of General Thomas Drayton, of the Confederate army, and the wife of Mr. Joseph Daniel Pope. She was born the the purple and worthily she wore it.
