Caroline was born 1816 in most likely McClure Settlement, a daughter of Charles Hewitt, Sr. and Susannah Pine. She married William McClure III and they were parents to six children.

After her husband's death, she lived with her daughter and Son-in-Law Mary McClure and Issac B. Willey. She was enumerated in the 1892 NY Census as living in that household in Deposit, NY. By 1900 she can no longer be found. She is not found in the 1900 census with any of her children or grandchildren. Her death date will most likely be found between 1892 and 1900, but to date, the exact date has yet to be determined.

Like her husband William McClure III, she has no Grave Stone but we have no reason to think she was not buried with her husband William McClure and many of their children and Grandchildren in Pine Grove Cemetery.
