Darius "Zeke" Edward Elkins, 68, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Aug. 18, 2015, in his son's home after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.

Born Oct. 28, 1946, in Branchland, WV, a son of the late Nathan and Jo Emma Bias Elkins, he was a self-employed truck driver. He retired from J&L Specialty Steel and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Frankie Duane Elkins and brothers, Ricky Lynn and Randall Dale Elkins.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Pillar Elkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Dawn Elkins, with whom he resided; Nathan Elkins and his fiancée, Amber, Monaca; Joshua Elkins and his fiancée, Victoria, Ambridge; a daughter, Cindy Elkins, Industry and a stepdaughter, Jamie Cervelli, Monaca; Darius was blessed with 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his six sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay Adkins, Jannett and Doug Thumm, Judy Coe, all of Midland; Debbie and Terry Speerhas, Ohioville; Ranell and Mark Bambery, Hookstown and Debbie Lee and Greg Banfield, Industry.

Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the D.L. WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 848 Midland Ave., Midland, where a service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. Rev. Jeff Marquis, pastor of New Salem Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Industry, where full military rites will be rendered by the American Legion Post 481 Honor Guard, Midland.

The family would like to thank son, Clayton and daughter-in-law, Dawn; grandson, Davey and granddaughter, Brenda, for all the love and great care Darius was given during his last few months.
