George Cornish, an old resident of Lee Ceneter, died at 2 am yesterday of acute diabetes, aged 68 years. His sudden death was a great surprise to the people of this village as he was about the streets on Monday in as good health as usual and also came to Rome. The deceased was a man of very genial disposition and had many friends who will be pained to learn of his death. About 45 years ago Mr. Cornish was married to Miss Mary Tucker of Chenango county, who survives. He also leaves five children, Harvey I. of Nebraska City, Mrs. P. H. O'Donnell and George R. Cornish of Rome, Allen G. of Trinidad, Col., Mrs. M. Hitchcotck of Lee Center. The surviving brothers and sisters are A. W. Cornish of Lee Center, Aaron Cornish and Mrs. Emily Hall of Camden, Colonel Joel Cornish of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Abbie Bronson of Manchester, Ia., Mrs. Temperance Cooper of Kansas City, Mo. The funeral will be held at the family residence on Friday.
