Mr. Benton Bacon, age 70, died Saturday, August 16, 2015 after a lengthy illness , at his home surrounded by family . Mr. Benton, a Bulloch County native, attended Nevils School, then spent many years farming . For 18 years Mr. Benton worked as a mechanic for Mr. Emory Deloach's Service Station in Denmark. He enjoyed spending time with his family, mowing and raking his yard and sitting in his back yard listening to his favorite music on his radio. Mr. Benton is preceded in death by a sister, Edith Kirby; and brothers, Sheldon Bacon, Colen Bacon, Jimmy Bacon, and Junior Bacon.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon , August 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick McElveen officiating.
Burial will follow at Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Hodges-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
