Mr. Scott Turner, 52, of Morehead, formerly of Himyar, passed away Sunday morning, August 23, 2015 at his home. He was the son of the late Garrett and Catherine Buttery Baker Turner born on October 11, 1962 in Pineville.

Scott was a carpenter, a former employee of Morehead State University and a member of the Concord Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and dearly loved his dog, BoBo.

On September 4, 1987, he united in marriage with Joanne Chavies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David H. Baker and two brothers-in-law, Harrison Davis and Darrell Chavies.

Survivors include his loving wife, Joanne Turner of Morehead; two children, Kristina Kegley and husband, Curtis, of Morehead and Jamie Marion and wife, Tammy, of Scalf; a sister, Sharron Davis of Himyar; a brother, Mike Baker and wife, Tammy, of Mackey Bend; six grandsons, Noah, Dalton, Dawson, Conor, Cooper and Caden; three nieces, Angie, Jessica and Tara; a nephew, Shane; his father-in-law, Franklin D. Chavies of Himyar; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, August 26 at 6 P.M. with Rev. Larry Sowders and Samuel Lawson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Farley Cemetery at Himyar.

Casket bearers will be Tony Brown, Jerry Sizemore, Shane Davis, Tony Landrum, David Chavies and Dennis Chavies. Honorary bearers will be his grandsons.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 4 P.M. until the funeral hour.
