Frances Davis Martin was called to her heavenly home on July 22, 2006. Services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Knowles and Rev. Johnny Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Davis Family Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Wilkinson County, Mrs. Martin earned her B.S. degree and her Master's of Education Degree at Georgia College. She taught at the Youth Development Center in Milledgeville, and in the Baldwin County School System for 33 years. She retired from teaching in 1986. Mrs. Martin was an active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where she was WMU Director and she taught the Adult Sunday School Class for many years. She is the daughter of the late I.W. and Annielu Eady Davis. She is also predeceased by her husband, Lee B. Martin, her sister, Mary Lou Davis, and her brothers, I.W. "Bud" Davis, and John H. Davis. Mrs. Martin is survived by her four children: Mary Ann (Lantz) Rogers of Toomsboro, GA; Brenda (Steve) James of Milledgeville, GA; Burnice (Bob) Leady of Waverly, GA; and Dave (Laney) Martin of Milledgeville, GA, four granddaughters, Amanda (Shannon) Panther of Dublin, GA, Rachel (Josh) Yomans of Gordon, GA, Kara James and Emily James of Milledgeville, GA, grandsons, Josh Martin of Irwinton, GA, Jonathan (Samille) Jackson and Jeremy (Crystal) Jackson of Gordon, GA; 7 great-grandchildren; several nephews also survive.
