Robert P. (Bob) Aldrich, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the age of 76. Mr. Aldrich was born in Burlington, VT on January 31, 1934.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a dedicated police officer on the S.A. Police Department for 35 years (1957-92). He and his wife Beatrice were founding parishioners of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert P. Aldrich, Sr. and Ruth Aldrich, and his sister Beverly Flynn. He is survived by his siblings Alberta Barrett, Walter Aldrich, and Judy Aldrich, all of Vermont. He is also survived by his cherished and loving wife of 52 years, Beatrice Aldrich, son Michael W. Aldrich and wife Melodye, daughter Karen D. Zachidny and husband Christopher, son Christopher A. Aldrich and wife Kimberly, and daughter Nanette K. Carney and husband Alan. His beloved grandchildren Shawn M. Aldrich, Kailey M. Aldrich, Kendra R. Zachidny, Riley C. Zachidny, Bryant P. Zachidny, Cory A. Aldrich and Savannah R. Aldrich survive him, as well as his mother-in-law Regina Jenschke.

Visitation will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North on Monday, May 17, 2010 between 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the San Antonio Food Bank at safoodbank.org or 5200 Old Hwy 90 West; San Antonio, TX; 78227.
