Oneida Garrison died on April 12, 1998 in Peoria, AZ at the age of 83, due to a rare lung cancer. When she learned she had cancer the doctor told her "you smoked for 50 years you've lived your life and you have 30 days to live." If you knew Oneida she did not give up easily. She was a strong spirited person, a fighter, and she lived optimistically for another two years.

She lived with her grandson, Sean Garrison and great granddaughter Athea Garrison, while battling with this disease. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sharon Garrison, grandchildren Dawn Renee Garrison Daniell, Sean Garrison, Ryan Garrison, and great grandchildren, Valarie Menezes, Alyssa Menezes, Jessica Menezes, Athea Garrison, Michelle Garrison, Seth Garrison, Christopher Fahey Garrison and several great great grandkids (not yet born).

Oneida was born February 20, 1915, in Webbers Falls, OK. She married Wilbur (Willie) Wilson Garrison who preceded her in death in 1970. She and Willie had two children, Bobby Leon Garrison in 1938 and Donald Ray Garrison in 1940.

Oneida spent most of her life being a wife, mother, homemaker, and a granny. She loved her grandchildren! She liked to tease them by dancing in the middle of the living room to make them laugh (which worked). She also loved to grocery shop so she could cook and bake for her family. And we cannot forget her favorite candy, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, If you brought her one she was a happy camper.

In addition she loved to crotchet, sew, and make quilts. She enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles, playing dominoes, and card games ( That's It was her favorite) and she especially loved her soap operas! She loved to socialize and made friends where ever she went! When she met people she would tell them to just call her "Granny." She touched many lives. To know her was to love her. She was an amazing lady who is missed every single day.

Oneida was cremated.
