Albert Jenkins served in Company D. 803rd U.S. Pioneer Infantry in World War One.

He went to Camp Grant, IL for training where the 803rd was being organized. The regiment went to France in Sept 1918 and served with the 2nd Army in Oct-Nov 1918. They returned home in July 1919 to Camp Grant where the regiment was demobilized.

When Albert died on Sept 21, 1924, his death certificate stated he was a 29 year old porter born April 14, 1895 in Ensley, GA., the son of Thomas and Ida Jenkins both natives of Alabama. He was buried at Oakridge Cemetery on Dept 26, 1924.
