Recent submission of direct, male Wright descendant, DNA proof indicates this Philbert IS a son of Reverend Richard Wright and Elizabeth Hughes.

Based on "Cemeteries of Western Greene County, Indiana, Vol II, received 10/27/2014, from Sullivan County Public Library. Philbert MUST have had [or still has] a headstone, as the info reads "died 10 Nov 1865, 63y 9m 28d" is so specific. IF the stone-cutter's information is accurate, it establishes Philbert's birth date on January 13, 1802 which would have been in North Carolina. Place of birth established in several later censuses.

ATTENTION!! MANY, many thanks to ETHAN WRIGHT, a descendant, who found the headstone and took the picture.

Rev. Richard Wright and Nancy Hughes Wright moved to Greene County, IN before 1812 - he is a member of the military - lived their lives in Wright Township, Greene County, Indiana - where Philbert 1802 also lived his entire life. Both Philbert 1802 and Rev. Richard Wright are buried in the Frey/Fry [aka Sheets Cemetery] Family Cemetery, along with other children of Richard and Elizabeth's.

NOTE: Regarding 'purported parents' Philbert Wright [d.1855] and Mary Sears; they are NOT his parents - as attested to by Philbert 1768's will - which specifically names all 12 of their children. Research shows that Philbert 1768 and the Philbert 1802 are never found to have lived in the same county. After moving from NC in early 1800's, Philbert Wright & Mary Sears Wright and their family lived their lives in Washington County, Indiana.

Philbert Wright 1802 and his wife, Nancy Frey/Fry lived their lives in Greene County.
