NASEWAUPPEE PIONEER, OFFICER OF DAIRY COMPANY 18 YEARS
Nasewaupee-Peter Zettle, 83, died Monday morning at the home of his son Lawrence, on the old homestead. He had a bad fall five weeks ago and last Sunday suffered a stroke.
The body was prepared for burial by Stoneman's, and funeral services were held in Sawyer Thursday morning at 9:30 from Corpus Christi Church with the Rev. H. N. Pfeifer officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers were John Heilman, Herman Schmidt, Ed LeCloux, Reinhart Magle, Emil and Herman Sperber.
Mr. Zettle was born in Rothenbaum, Germany Nov. 18, 1862, to Peter and Theresia Zettle, who came to America in 1866 and lived in Maplewood for four years. In 1870 the father bought the home farm, which remains in the family under the ownership of Lawrence.
Mr. Zettle was supervisor of the Township for ten years and for 18 years was treasurer of the Nasewaupee Dairy Co. He retired eight years ago. He and Emma Burlo were married at Marinette March 26, 1887. She died March 17, 1938.
Surviving are four sons Joseph and Henry of Chicago, Fred of Manitowoc, and Lawrence at home; four daughters, Mrs. B. D. (Theresa) Vincent of Lake City, Mi., Mrs. Antone (Delvina) Thome and Mrs. Charles (Lillian) Pozek of Chicago, and Mrs. E. R. (Delia) Cardy of Sawyer, and 29 grandchildren, and 22 great children.
