JOSEPH ZETTLE, MAPLEWOOD, DIES

MAPLEWOOD-Joseph Zettle, 79, one of the earliest pioneers of Door County, died here Sunday about noon. He had been a resident of this town, where he carved out a farm from the wilderness, since 1868 when he came from Austria at he age of 19. Mr. Zettle was married to Miss Theresa Stueber, also a native of Austria, 10 1872, 52 years ago last September, and the two continued to make their home here on the farm which they occupied till the date of Mr. Zettle`s death. Surviving besides Mrs. Zettle are the following children: Mrs. Frank Goetz, Manawa; Michael, Fox, Michigan; Frank, Anton, George, Margaret, Anna, and Catherine, all of Maplewood. Three sisters, Mrs. Frank Hornick, of Menominee, Michigan; Mrs. John Weber and Mrs. George Feuerstein, of Forestville; and one half-brother; Peter Zettle, Nasewaupee, also survive. The funeral, which was held from the St. Mary`s church here, Wednesday, at 10 o`clock, was attended by a large number of relatives and friends from this county and outside points. The Rev.
