Joyce BAKER, 1680-1749, daughter of John BAKER [variant spelling: BAKER, BARKER] and of his wife, Sarah - , married circa 1697, Joseph GRIFFIN, 1670-1732, late of St. George Parish, South Carolina;

daughter, Mary GRIFFIN, 1700-1748, md. Joseph CHILDS / CHILD, 1680-1717, son of Benjamin CHILDS/ CHILD; Will of Joseph CHILD, 1680-1717, written in 1715, '...left 800 Acre Tract of Land with houses and edifices thereon...' to eldest son, Benjamin CHILD, 1703-1739; '...and to his son, Joseph CHILD, a money legacy...' '...Joseph CHILD the brother of Benjamin [CHILD]purchased land adjoining his brother Benjamin, apparently also afterwards forming part of Windsor Hill, and seems to have been living as late as 1750, and in 1741 had a wife named Ann...'; 'He [Will of Joseph CHILD, 1680-1717] mentions a wife Mary, and two daughters Sarah and Martha; and appoints as his executor his brother (i.e., brother in law) John CANTEY' [variant spelling: CANTEY, CANTY. Benjamin CHILD [son of Joseph CHILD, 1680-1717] in his memorial in 1733 states that he held 600 acres under his father's will, and he added some 243J acres purchased by him from James CANTEY, parts of two grants for 500 acres each to William CANTEY made 20 February and 20 March 1712/13. On 13 January 1725/6 Benjamin CHILD married Hannah ELLIOTT, daughter of William I ELLIOTT. No will of Benjamin CHILD appears on record but in an old index of wills his name appears as having left a will with a date opposite his name—22 March 1739. Mary CHILD, d. 1761, daughter of Benjamin CHILD, d. 1733, and of his wife, Hannah ELLIOTT, md. January 18, 1750, Charleston, South Carolina, John AINSLIE, who became owner of Windsor Hill Plantation after his first marriage January 18, 1749/50 to Mary CHILD, [he married second, Mary MacKENZIE, June 17, 1762] and later willed (1776){...'died in January 1774 leaving a will which mentions his only child Hannah [AINSLIE] the daughter of his first wife...'],the property to his daughter, HANNAH AINSLIE, who married, 1776, then Lieutenant (later Major) William MOULTRIE, Jr.
