Sand, Luella Rollins

Luella Rollins Sand, age 96, of 11409 Wedge Rd., Two Rivers, entered into eternal life, Friday morning, September 27, 2013. Luella was born May 16, 1917, in Two Rivers, to the late Albert and Emma Flegle Rollins. She was raised with her three sisters by her grandparents, George and Anna Flegle. Luella married Raymond J. Sand on April 22, 1939 and he preceded her in death February 4, 1989.

Some of the things she enjoyed in her lifetime was being a wife, and raising her children and loving it! She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Luella taught children's religion classes for several years. She was a 4-H Leader-sewing for several years, and participated in June Dairy bake-off's three times. She went to adult educational courses, millinery, lingerie, tailoring and fitting, home furnishings, creative writing, drivers training, dancing and upholstery class. She was a member of the County Homemakers Club, the Anniversary Club, Dancing Club, and the Sheepshead Club. Luella served as the town of Two Rivers Treasurer for 18 years, and enjoyed that position very much. She made hundred's of turbans and scarfs for cancer patients, and enjoyed sewing, upholstery, and slip covering.

Luella is survived by her children, Judith Sand DeLaurelle, of Green Bay; Nancy Sand and Melvin Stangel, of Cooperstown; James Raymond and Linda Sand, of Two Rivers; and Mary Sand, of Two Rivers; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchilden, 4 great-great-grandchildren. In additon to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice Prausa, Ruth Miller, Frances Geerdts; and by two brothers, George Rollins and Albert Tomek; and by a son-in-law, Gary DeLaurelle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, with the Reverend John Becker officiating, with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the church, until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.

The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Sand family with funeral arrangments.
