FRANCES G. GEERDTS
(1921 - 2011)

Frances G. Geerdts, age 90, of 1235 South 24th Street and formerly of 1213 South 20th Street, Manitowoc, died on Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.

Frances was born on February 17, 1921, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Flegle) Rollins. She graduated from Two Rivers High School with the class of 1939. On July 5, 1941 she married Arthur R. Geerdts in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2010. Frances was a member of St. John's U.C.C. and the choir, sew and sews. She also sang with Sweet Adeline and the Silver Tones. Frances was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Wisconsin Campers Association. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses: Susan and Roger Bennin, Manitowoc, Fredric Geerdts and special friend Jane Barnes, Francis Creek, John R. and Vicki Geerdts, Manitowoc, Peggy and Ray Fuller, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Roger and Denise Bennin, Robert J. Bennin, Christee Schlorf, Paula and Mike Thomas, Amanda and Josh Brantley, Melissa and Jason Schuette, Heather and Kenny Heller, Adam Fuller; ten great-grandchildren; one sister: Luella Sand, Two Rivers; and a special family friend: Patti Wallander, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter: April Bennin; one great-grandson: Dennis Franz; one brother: George Rollins; two sisters: Berniece (Henry) Prausa and Ruth (Earl) Miller; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Evelyn and Daniel Fierst, Ruth and Floyd Greenwood, Raymond Sand.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. James Klein with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Shady Lane for the care and compassion shown to Frances and her family over the past few years.
