Linda C. Appleby of Evergreen, Colorado passed away August 3, 2015 after a glorious day climbing mountains with her husband of 36 years Donald Appleby and their daughter Jessica. Linda is also survived by her son Michael and his wife Alison, her mother Phyllis (Pinkie) Christensen and her brothers Alan and George Christensen.

Linda was born on December 1, 1955 in Glenview, IL to Earnest and Pinkie Christensen. She was a beautiful woman, loving mother, a caring wife, and adoring daughter and sister. She was known by her friends to live life to the fullest and to always be up for an adventure. She brought joy, wisdom, compassion, gratitude, and a smile with her always, sharing them freely with her friends, family, and the many volunteer causes that were close to her heart. She was enthusiastically interested and involved in the lives of friends and family.

Known to her family as "Crazy Aunt Linda" she enjoyed being silly and never backed away from a dare – such as making snow angels in a formal dress at a New Years' Eve party – while sober!

Linda touched many lives through her professional associations as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble and as a relocation consultant in Cincinnati, her volunteer work (including serving in leadership positions in the Junior League of Cincinnati, the National Alumni board of Adventure Unlimited and the Christian Science churches in her communities), and through personal associations with friends and family. Her web of connections literally spans the globe – from Singapore to St. Petersburg, Russia; across Europe and America.

Her love of the outdoors began at the Adventure Unlimited Ranches in Buena Vista, Colorado at the age of eight. After attending the ranches for 9 years, a love of the mountains and horses was deeply engrained. After spending 38 years living in Cincinnati and Europe with her husband and children, she and Don moved to Evergreen together in early 2014 where they quickly sprouted deep roots.

A celebration of her life will be held on August 29, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Roundup Ranch Chapel at the AU Ranches located at 18325 County Rd. #366, Buena Vista, CO 81211.

A second celebration will be held in Cincinnati on September 12, 2015 at the Junior League of Cincinnati headquarters at 3500 Columbia Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45226.

In celebration of her life and in accordance with Linda's wishes, the family will be wearing bright colors. Please feel free to do the same.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her name be made to Adventure Unlimited, 5201 S. Quebec Street, Greenwood, CO 80111 or the Junior League of Cincinnati Endowment Fund at the address above.
