PENNINGTON, JOHN W., age 66, of Birmingham, died August 28, 2005. Mr. Pennington was a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army. He was a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. He was a local contractor in the construction business. Graveside service will be Thursday, September 1, at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Survivors: wife of 29 years, Judy Cain Pennington; son, Joseph B. Pennington; brother, Herbert Pennington (Gail); sister, Virginia P. Walker; a host of nieces and nephews. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel directing.
