PENNINGTON, J C, age 78, of Smokerise, passed away. He was a member of Hayden First Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Funeral Services will be on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. Interment in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Bro. Sam Hollis officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors: wife, Helen Kennedy Pennington; sons, John C. (Melody) Pennington of Kimberly and K. Michael (Patsy) Pennington of Hayden; daughter, Carol P. Adams of Madison; grandchildren, Callie, Mallory, and Kathryn Pennington, Kyle Adams, and Cassie Pennington; brothers, Herbert L. (Gail) Pennington of Hoover and Johnny W. (Judy) Pennington of Vestavia Hills; sister, Virginia P. Walker of Hoover; sister-in-law, Chris D.
