I LOVE LUCY!
The summer of 2015 will always be, for me, the summer of Lucy. Her back story is a mystery - she showed up out of the blue on the 4th of July, and quickly decided to adopt me as her new mom. We attempted to find her owner, but had no luck with that. So, after a trip to the vet, she settled into her new home, and we became great friends. She had a loving nature, and a winning personality. The vet had estimated her to be about ten years old, but she had the energy of someone much younger.

With no warning, she began having symptoms of a serious illness. The vet advised that it was better to let her go; she was just too sick to fight it. The thought of her suffering any more was out of the question, so she passed away on 9/11, a date that always seems to bring pain and loss.

Lucy left us as mysteriously as she arrived, but in the short time that she was here she made this neighborhood a better place. She was a wonderful friend, and I wouldn't have missed the opportunity to know her.
