Katherine was an accomplished dressmaker (seamstress). Aunt Kitty made everything from curtains, bedspreads, dresses (for all her nieces) and her own wardrobe to elegant wedding gowns. As a child I loved sitting with her watching her sew. Aunt Kitty had a Singer sewing machine with a big foot pedal. She had a pin cushion to hold her pins but she sometimes would put the pins between her lips as she worked. Aunt Kitty would frequently hum as she created her items. A very kind, patient, generous and happy lady.
