A long time resident of La Jolla she leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years, Charles, a son Joseph Jr., by her first husband Joseph W. Tarnowski, and a step daughter Amelia. She also leaves a beautiful daughter-in-law Joan, and her grandson Charles Joseph of whom she was most proud.
During World War II she proudly served our country as a Red Cross volunteer and worked building aircraft to support the war effort.
Eleanor was best known for her career as a successful La Jolla Real Estate and insurance broker. She enjoyed sketching, painting, world travel and the company of her many friends.
A 1972 graduate of San Diego State University, she received her B.A. degree in Social Service. Following this she earned an elementary teaching credential from United States International University and was a substitute teacher for several years.
Her ashes will be placed for eternal keepsake at El Camino Memorial Park in a private family ceremony.
