Mrs Anna Martens, 320 Fairmount street, Davenport, died at 10:20 p. m. Tuesday at the, family home after a week's illness. The decedent was born Nov. 24, 1845, in Germany, and was married there to Hans Martens, who preceded her in death in 1914. She came to Scott county in 1881 and resided here since. She was of Lutheran faith. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Mary Sass of Davenport and Mrs Christine Schroeder of Denver, Colo.; six sons, Henry, Fred, Herman, George and Edward R. Martens, all of Davenport, and Jacob Martens of Mt. Pleasant, la.; 29 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Runge chapel. Burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
