Joseph M. Kupsh, age 85, of 3615 Lowell Street, Two Rivers, died Friday evening, September 18, 2015 at Meadowview Assisted Living Facility in Two Rivers with his loving family at his side.

Joe was born on October 25, 1929 in the town of Franklin, son of the late Michael and Anna (Kopidlansky) Kupsh Sr. He graduated in 1947 from East De Pere High School and was a 1951 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. Joe later received a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He worked for 40 years as a high school business teacher, the final 34 years at Washington High School in Two Rivers retiring in 1990. On July 30, 1952 Joe was married to the former Elaine Pfeffer at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and a former member of the Men of Holy Redeemer. He was a member and president of the Holy Redeemer School Association and the Two Rivers Lions Club. He was well known for his extracurricular activity of selling tickets at high school activities and sporting events. Joe was a member of the Shoto Conversation Club and loved fishing and hunting. His weekends and evenings were often filled with woodworking projects from household cabinets to intricate vehicle models.

Survivors include his wife: Elaine Kupsh, Two Rivers; 4 children and their spouses: Debra (Bob) Schick, Buffalo, NY; Dorene "De-Dee" (Larry) VanCaster, Sherwood; James (Meg) Kupsh, Charlotte, NC; Jean (Dan) Stein, Sherwood; 13 grandchildren: Brian (Theresa) Schick; Andrew (Tansy) Schick; Kyle Schick; Chris (Aleigh) VanCaster; Joe (Lyndsey) VanCaster; Becca (Shawn) Jablonski; Allison Kupsh; Jeff Kupsh; Jack Kupsh; Mary Jane Brigman; Christopher Stein; Collin Stein; Hannah Stein; 7 great grandchildren: Emma; Cole; Campbell; Mills; Walker; Braelynn; Arianna and baby girl to be born in October; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Harry (Dolores) Kupsh, Valders; Carol Kupsh, Kellnersville; one sister: Joan Sheehy, Reedsville; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law: Glenn (Shelby) Pfeffer, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Michael and Anna Kupsh Sr.; one brother: Michael Kupsh Jr.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edgar and Mayme Pfeffer; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Harold Sheehy; Gwen (Leo) Denor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Road, Two Rivers. The Rev. Tom Reynebeau will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment in the Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Joe's family would like to thank the staff's of Home Healthcare and Hospice and Meadowview Assisted Living Facility for the wonderful care shown to Joe during the past two years of his 24 year battle with Parkinson's Disease.
