married February 24, 1883 in Skt Matthæus, Sokkelund, København, Denmark

His obituary in the Danish newspaper editions of the New York newspaper were transcribed from the Danish as shown below:

“Yesterday one of Richmond Hills best known and most popular Danes was buried. Jens Dinesen came to America 17 years ago. He worked for different well established decorator firms here, for instance, Frode Rambusch. He was known as a very able man in his trade and had his own firm for the last ten years in Richmond Hills. He leaves behind 3 daughters and 1 son, and many friends. Flower decorations from his workers, from residents in Richmond Hills and from both business and private friends made an overwhelming impression. His death was a hard blow to both family and friends, more so because Dinesen first became ill on Thursday. Friday he had an operation during which he died. Among the participants in the funeral service were Silldorff, C.P. Christensen, Stener Stenersen, Chas. Schure with wife, Axel Meyer, G. Larsen, Gottschalk, Fred Willumsen, and many more.”

“Mr. James Dinesen of Dinesen & Son, Painter & Decorator, Richmond Hills, died Friday October 21st. The funeral was held last Monday in Maple Grove Cemetery.”
