Born in Lebanon, Marion County, Kentucky, in 1892, Prudence Mildred Hayden was the eldest child of William Leo Hayden and Susan Catherine Abell.

"Prudie" was raised in a traditional Catholic family, and was herself extremely devoted to the Church. Her sister, Marietta, had joined the convent and become a nun at an early age. So she was delighted when her youngest son, William, followed family tradition and entered the seminary to became a Priest.

She met her husband, Charles Edward Senieur, when he moved next door to her parents, as shown in the 1910 Census. A Catholic himself, his parents had emigrated from France. Together, they raised three children - Anna, William and Richard.
