She was born October 16, 1940, in Shelby County, MO, the daughter of Darrell Blackburn and Sarah Marie McElroy Snider. In August of 1959, she was united in marriage to James Utz. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1996.
Sharon is survived by one sister, Cheryl Kendrick and husband Bill of Shelbina, MO; one sister-in-law, Willie Utz of Shelbina, MO and one niece, Mendy Schaefer and husband Kevin and their children, Hayden and Rilynn of Shelbina, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim and an infant sister Patsy.
Sharon was a 1959 member of Shelbina High School and a member of Kendall Methodist Church. She was a secretary at Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch. Sharon enjoyed playing the piano at church, her nieces activities, attending Wilcox Opry Barn, her flowers, gardening and square dancing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina with burial to follow in Kendall Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Shelbina from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch or Kendall Mt. Olive Methodist Church
