Requiem high mass for Albert McColley, 90, of Terry, was celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, Terry on June 21. Mr McColley passed away on June 19 at the local hospital. Rosary was said for him Monday evening at the chapel of Bray's Mortuary.
Albert McColley was born at Crown Point ID on April 26, 1870. It is not know when he came to MT. He worked as a ranch laborer at the Townsend ranch, know later as the Kalfell ranch, and the E W Thomas ranch.
In 1945 he began working for Hank Dreyer, Miles City. Since 1950 he has spent is time in hospitals in Miles City and Terry.

His mother was Lucy (McColley) McColley (1851-1916), who was divorced from his father about 1882; they were cousins. She then married William George.

When he was about 14 years old, he and his brother, Lyman, were sent to the Indiana Reform School for petty larceny. A newspaper article recorded that "they are bright boys but their associations have been of the lowest order and calculated to make vagabonds and criminals of them. They should be sent to the Reform School at Plainfield, where they will be under strict discipline, and taught to work, and will be given a fair English education." Lyman died at the school about a year later.
