Man Found Dead After Fall Here

Donald McIntyre, 63, was found dead Friday morning at the foot of the steps leading to his basement room at 715 West Midwest. He was last seen alive by friends about 10 o'clock Friday morning, according to information obtained by County Coroner William Bustard, who is carrying on an investigation to determine the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding it.

Coroner Bustard stated that friends revealed that Mr. McIntyre had come home about 12:30 or 1 o'clock Friday morning and had fallen down the stairs leading to his room. Hearing him fall, they told Coroner Bustard that they had found him unconscious at the foot of the steps and being unable to revive him, let him lay believing that nothing was seriously wrong.

They said they had returned about eight o'clock in the morning and found him still there, alive but unconscious. They returned about 10 o'clock and he was still alive, they said, and told Bustard that they still did not try to take him into his room. About 11:30 they returned to McIntyre and found him dead.

Funeral arrangements are pending the outcome of the investigation by Coroner Bustard.
