Bernice Kennedy, age 90, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Henderson, Nevada. Bernice was born on October 2, 1924 in Stuart, Oklahoma to E. Frank and Oval (Taylor) Lovell. She was a lifelong resident of this area and worked at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. She enjoyed hummingbirds, working in her yard, gardening, traveling and family history research. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in McAlester. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Oval Lovell, husband, Homer Dale Kennedy, brother, Roy Lovell, sister, Erma Coats and grandson, Charles "Chuck" Short, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at First Free Will Baptist Church in McAlester at 2:00 pm with Brother Bill Kirk and Reverend Steve Mayhew officiating. Interment will follow at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
