Lindsey Nelson Lackey, age 94, of Floydada, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2015 in Lockney. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, October 5, 2015 at Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada with Pastor Tim Franks officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Lindsey was born on September 7, 1921 in the Cedar Hill community, Floyd County, Texas to William "Elvie" Lackey and Rosa Lee (Massengale) Lackey. Lindsey served in the Air Force during World War II at Randolph Field in San Antonio, Texas. After returning from the service, he married Billie Ruth (Love) Lackey on July 29, 1943. He was a farmer in the Cedar Hill community until his retirement. After retirement, Lindsey and Billie enjoyed traveling in their travel trailer especially to Port Isabel, Texas where they enjoyed fishing and made many life-long friends. Lindsey also enjoyed taking trips on his Harley Davidson motorcycle to Colorado with neighboring farmers. Lindsey loved his family, friends, farming, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Kay Lackey, in 1951, his parents William "Elvie" Lackey and Rosa Lee (Massengale) Lackey, a sister Bennie Golightly, a sister Wanda DuBois, a brother James Greer, a niece and a nephew.

Lindsey is survived by his wife of the home, and his daughters Linda Turner and son-in-law Donnie of Flomot, Texas, and Kimberly Erpelding and son-in-law Jeffrey of Plainview, Texas, a sister Thada Fowler of Silverton, Texas, and several nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Area Community Hospice of Plainview - 3109 Olton Rd. Plainview, TX 79072 and Floydada Cemetery Association - P.O. Box 444 Floydada, TX 79235.
