Constance Ella (Ames) Caler, 72, of South Dennis, died Saturday, May 6 in Cape Cod Hospital. Born in Portland, Maine, she moved to the Cape in 1954 and worked for Henderson's Hardware in Dennis Port for more than 15 years and Harney's Grocery Store in South Dennis for three years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Victory Chapel in South Dennis. Survivors include a son, Timothy B. Small; a daughter, Karen M. Fernandes of South Dennis; three brothers including Lt. Col. Ralph Ames of East Dennis, eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to charity of one's choice.
