LLOYD ADDISON AMES

Funeral services for Lloyd A. Ames, 43, who died suddenly at his home on Depot St., Dennis Port, were held at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, Harwich Port, of which he was a member. The Rev. Charles H. Monbleau officiated. A native of Portland, Me., where he was educated, he was the son of Ralph H. and the late Clara (Christianson) Ames of Portland. He had lived on the Cape for 14 years. Mr. Ames was formerly employed by the Portland Upholstery Co. He came to the Cape to establish his own business, the Ames Aluminum Co. and upholstery firm on Main St., Dennis Port. He was a World War II veteran and held the French Cruoix de Guerre with palm. Besides his wife, Mrs. Dorothy (Barnes) Ames, he is survived by his father; a sister, Mrs. Constance Caler of Dennis Port; four brothers, Lt. Col. Ralph H. Ames jr. of East Dennis, Sidney of Scarborough, Me., Kenneth of Springfield and Walter of Portland, Me.; and several nieces and nephews. Interment was at Swan Lake Cemetery in Dennis Port.
