POTHIER, ELIZABETH 'BETTY' (PULLAN) 91, of Rumford died peacefully on January 16, 2011 at RI Hospital surrounded by her very large, loving family. She was born in Pawtucket, the second youngest in a family of twelve children. In 1942 she married Maurice Blais, who was killed in WWII. In 1946 she married Joseph E. Pothier, Jr. who passed away in 1979. She leaves nine children, fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandson: James F. Pothier of Rumford and his wife Robin and three girls, Sarah, Lauren and Jena; Dorothy C. Smith of Rumford and her husband Steven and three children, Meagan, Rebecca and Jed; Maureen Pothier of Warwick and her husband Paul Inveen; Joseph E. Pothier, III of Burlingame, CA and his wife Paula and their son Joe; Barbara Pothier of Providence; Mary Conroy of Warwick and her husband Raymond and two sons Patrick and Paul; Margaret Pothier of Brookline, MA and her husband Richard Mazandi-Iseke and their three daughters Vanessa, Danielle and Andrea; Katherine Bailey of Lynnfield, MA and her late husband Garnet 'Ace' Bailey and their son Todd as well as Todd's wife Kelly and their son Evan; Magdalene (Blais) Scott and her husband Donald and their two sons Paul and Sean and Sean's wife Lynn. Her family will miss her love, constant devotion and her wry wit. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. from the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Margaret Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket. Calling hours Wednesday 4-8. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation, 135 Langdon St., Providence, RI 02904 or by visiting www.acebailey.org.
