Homer Theodore Gadeke, eldest son of Mr. & Mrs. A. H. Gadeke, was born May 2, 1950, in Worth County, Missouri. He grew to manhood in Seward, Nebraska and was a graduate of Seward High School. He then attended York College for three years.

After being engaged in farming for only a short time, he became an inspector for the state of Nebraska, a position he held up to the time of his death. He passed away October 15, 1955, at St. Mary's Hospital in North Platte, Nebraska, after a brief illness.

He was baptized in the United Brethren Church at Seward and was received into membership at the age of eleven years. In 1948, he united with the Methodist Church in Eustis, Nebraska.

He was united in marriage to Susan Belle Moore on August 6, 1931. To this union three children were born, Tex of the U.S. Navy, Suzanne of Eustis and Joan of Kearney.

Homer was a member of the Elwood Lodge #167 A.F. & A.M., being Master of this Lodge at the time of his death. He belonged to the Scottish Rite and also a Shriner, being a member of Tahema Temple in Hastings, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, who died in infancy. Survivors besides his wife and three children, are his mother, Mrs. A. H. Gadeke of Seward, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Gail Smith of San Diego, California; and a brother Merrill Gadeke also of San Diego, California.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church, Eustis, Nebraska, Tuesday, October 18, 1955, at 10:00 am. Rev. B. H. Hart officiated. Interment in Seward Cemetery, Seward, Nebraska.

Masonic services were conducted at the grave by Oliver Lodge #38 A.F. & A.M. of Seward, Rev. Donald Nunnally officiating.

Pallbearers: Glen Oglasby, LeRoy Dittman, Lester Lynch, Walter Padan, Chris Christensen and Carl Hafer.
