Carl Sapp, 70, of 1009 N. 31st St., formerly of RR 1, Springfield, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday at St. John's Hospital following a lingering illness.

A well known retired Sangamon County farmer, Mr. Sapp was born in Caneyville, Ky., the son of Dee and Ida Carter Sapp and had been a resident of the Springfield area since 1929.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dalsie; two son, Leonard and Tom Sapp, both of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Ura Lovene Bono and Mrs. Garnette Mae Winch, both of Springfield; two brothers, Roy of Lexington, Ky. and Pearl Sapp of Jacksonville; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Higgs of Louisville, Ky. and Mrs. Hattie Adams of Jacksonville; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
