OBITUARY: RACINE JOURNAL-TIMES 23 Nov 1942
"Mrs. Barbara Scholzen, 72, of 1626 Grand avenue, died Sunday in St. Mary's hospital.
Mrs. Scholzen was born in Germany, Dec. 24, 1870, and came to Racine in 1882. She was a member of Holy Name church, christian Mothers and St. Michael's auxiliary. It was while attending church services on Sunday that Mrs. Scholzen was stricken by illness. She was removed to the hospital, but died shortly afterwards.
Survivors are five sons, Lambert, John, Anton, Leo and Theodore Scholzen, all of Racine; three daughters, Jeanette of Chicago, Mrs. Nick Ludwig and Anna of Racine, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Draeger funeral home and at 9 a.m. in Holy Name church. Rev. John Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Kinzie avenue. Friends may call from 7 tonight until service time at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by the St. Miochael society and again at 8 p.m. by the Christian Mothers society."
