Verneal Jane was born in Decatur, Illinois on December 24, 1929, the daughter of John Ralph and Bertha Newberry Rentfro. She married William Franklin Fryman on January 9, 1949 in Decatur, Illinois. After 65 years of marriage, William passed away in 2014.
Verneal Jane was a proud homemaker, caring for her husband and her children. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, genealogy, and family camping trips. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Verneal Jane also liked sewing and crafts. She crocheted each grandchild a special afghan when they were born.
She is survived by sons, William Michael (Diane) Fryman, Douglas (Dina) Fryman, John (Patricia) Fryman, Steven (Becky) Fryman; daughter-in-law, Linnea Fryman-Viniard; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Virginia Alexander and 3 nieces, Cecilia (Dick) Peach, Nancy (Robert) Krieger and Teri (Randy) Meece.
Mrs. Fryman was also preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, son, Thomas Fryman and three brothers, Loren, Lyle, and Keith.
