Known as Hank to his friends and family, he died after a brief bout with cancer. He was 49 years old. Hank was born March 24, 1955 in Sebastopol California. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard during Vietnam. He moved to Alaska in 1971 and resided in Soldotna.In 1977, he began working for the Jackson Construction Company and worked there until it closed in 2002, He then worked for Tony Pierce.
"He loved building, driving heavy machinery, and being a foreman for Harold Jackson, Sr, of Jackson Construction", his family said. They also stated that "He was a very loving husband and father. His family always came first. He was always there for his friends anytime they needed him."
Hank was preceeded in death by his parents, Harry Louis and Ruby Pearl Brooner.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Brooner of Soldotna;daughter,Swan Brooner and son,Devon Shay Brooner, both of Soldotna;stepdaughters,Amber Christoffer of Soldotna and Tasha Barton of Germany;stepsons,Chad and Scott Christoffer,both of Soldotna and Anthony Christoffer of Yelm, Washington; grandaughters,Aston Deibert of Elma, Washington and Hannah Barton of Germany and grandson, Joe Deibert of Elma, Washington
