10-17-21 Wes Hart 47141587 reports John was born in what was to become the town of Shenandoah Junction, Jefferson County, West Virginia. (Which would then have been Virginia until the State of West Virginia was formed in 1863, and the town was called Neils at the time of his birth, renamed Shenandoah Junction in 1881). This was Berkeley County, Virginia (before that Frederick County) on land either at one time owned by Thomas Hart, Sr., and Thomas Hart Jr. or right next to it. The land survey was done for John's grandfather Melchor Engle by Lord Fairfax.
