Garry D. Tucker, 73, of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Whiting Christian Church in Whiting, Iowa, with Minister Jeff Thelander officiating. Burial will follow in the Whiting City Cemetery.

Garry Dean was born April 29, 1942 in Glenwood, the son of George and Esther (Timmerman) Tucker. He grew up there and graduated from Glenwood High School.

Garry and Kathryn Richardson were united in marriage on October 6, 1961. To this union, two children were born. Kathryn passed away on September 22, 2010.

He worked at packing houses in Glenwood, Omaha, and Sioux City, as well as in the sporting goods department at Woolco in Sioux City. He then worked for the City of Whiting, the City of Sloan, and as a custodian at the Whiting Community Schools for many years.

Garry loved fishing, hunting, trapping, woodworking, playing cards, listening to Elvis, and spending time with his dog Tucker. He was a member of the Whiting Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Wendy Sue and Bruce Reed of Farmington, MN; a son and his wife, Vincent D. and Tara Tucker of McCook Lake, SD; four grandchildren, Mitch and Madison Reed, and Treyla and Traven Tucker; his twin brother, Larry Tucker of Council Bluffs, IA; and brother George "Keith" (Barb) Tucker of Glenwood, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Esther Tucker; his wife, Kathryn Tucker; and five sisters, Helen Garrett, Mary Ellen, Marge Holt, Marilyn Barnes, and JoAnn Chapman.
